The junior double room was high-class, had a high ceiling, a hair dryer, and an iron. The breakfast of this place was savoury and delicious with great views, truly enjoyed it. The location was perfect and particularly good in a historic area, next to all the main attractions of Edinburgh and shops and monuments. We were 100 metres away from Puffle Waffle, that offered quick meals.

The location was wonderful, close to a bus station, so it was really easy to travel around. There was a nice restaurant, a main shopping street and shopping streets next door. We got room with Victorian decor and a luxurious bathroom to relax.

It is hard to find a reasonably priced old-fashioned hotel that has a central location and well-equipped and tastefully decorated rooms. The stuff are friendly professional and hard-working and deserve a 4-star rating. Very good service, they provide a public parking and free Wi-Fi. Great to have wake up calls and ironing free of charge.

I truly enjoyed the stay. Good value, everything was very convenient and the staff was lovely. The restaurant was great for dinner, I tried hot dishes. The beds were extremely comfy, view of the castle was excellent. The location was unbeatable: a mini market and a convenience shop were within walking distance. Had nice dainties at Hard Rock Cafe, located close to the hotel.

The location adjacent to the train station was perfect and absolutely incredible. Before bed I went to The Booking Office for a nightcap, it's around 4-6 minutes' walk from the hotel.

Set within 5 minutes walk from edinburgh castle, the hotel was also very close to many city attractions. 5 min walk from edinburgh waverley train station. The ivy on the square, which can be found only 300 ft away, was a fast option. We loved the fact that we chose old waverley.
